Overview

According to the International Telecommunication Union, 45% of Internet users worldwide are under 25 years old (2011). Therefore, we should acknowledge that young people - the digital natives – represents a significant proportion of end-users and as such they must have the opportunity to share their views and opinions on aspects relevant to the DNS such as data protection and privacy issues raised by Whois, security and stability, the impact of the new gTLDs on the everyday life of the end users, etc.

Who Should Attend? | Officers and staff from NGOs and NFPs interested in promoting the right to participate of youth as end-users, more specifically their active involvement in the management of the domain name system. Either in the room or by remote participants.

Agenda Details:

The session will be designed to be interactive and allow a dynamic exchange between the speakers who will be representative of youth sectors from different regions of the world and the participants.
