Berlin Meeting Details

Remote Participation:

For those unable to attend the Berlin ICANN Open Meeting and DNSO General Assembly Meeting in person, ICANN has arranged with the Berkman Center to provide live audio and video feeds over the Internet, and will enable realtime remote participation and feedback. Daily Schedule:

May 25, 1999 -- Advisory Committees, DNSO Constituency Groups and DNSO General Assembly Meetings

Advisory Committees. The following ICANN committees will meet in Berlin on May 25:

  • Membership Advisory Committee (Berlinzimmer, 09:00 - 17:00)

DNSO Constituency Groups.  In order to facilitate organizational meetings for the seven self-organizing constituencies of the Domain Name Supporting Organization, ICANN has reserved a meeting room for each constituency at the Hotel Adlon during the morning of May 25, 1999. ICANN has been posting statements submitted by the various DNSO constituency formation efforts as they have been received. To review and comment on these statements, and for further details on the organizational meetings, see The DNSO Constituency Group Formation Process.

DNSO General Assembly. In addition, the first meeting of the DNSO General Assembly will be held in the afternoon on May 25, 1999, 1:30 pm - 5:00, in the Hotel Adlon's Ballsaal I & II. As provided for in the ICANN bylaws, there will be a participation fee of DM 95 ($50 USD), to be collected in German DM in cash at the door. The participation fee is intended solely to fund the costs of DNSO-related meeting rooms, facilities, and webcasting services. This meeting will give participants in the various DNSO constiuency group meetings an opportunity to report on their respective morning meetings, and will give all DNSO General Assembly participants an opportunity to discuss the DNSO structure and possible next steps in the DNSO process.

May 26, 1999 -- ICANN Open Meeting

The ICANN Board of Directors will hold a day-long public meeting in Berlin.  This meeting requires no preregistration and is open to all interested persons. For those unable to attend in person, remote participation in the meeting will also be possible via the Internet.  The meeting agenda will include discussion of the following items that have been or will soon be posted for public comment at http://www.icann.org/berlin/drafts2.html:
