Overview

The GNSO Policy Development Process Work Team team was tasked to develop recommendations for a new GNSO policy development process (PDP). ICANN's policies have wide-ranging impact on how domain names are handled in the gTLD environment, so the method of developing the policies matters. The PDP-WT presented its Initial Report, containing amongst others forty-five (45) draft Recommendations in Brussels (see http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-2-31may10-en.htm) and opened a public comment forum. Following review of the public comments received and further deliberation on some of the outstanding issues, the WT has now published its Proposed Final Report, which is also open for public comment. This session will provide an overview of the proposed new GNSO Policy Development Process and hopes to encourage discussion and input that can be considered before the PDP-WT finalized its report.
