Mohammad Al Gergawi, 37, is a UAE National with a clear vision of the future in the fast changing international marketplace.

Over the last 13 years, Gergawi has worked for the Federal Government (Ministry of Finance), Dubai Municipality, Department of Economic Development and is currently the Director General of Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone Authority.

A business undergraduate from Michigan, USA, Gergawi’s career high points include orchestration and development of the Dubai Quality Award, the Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises, Dubai Press Club and most recently, the Dubai Internet City – the world’s first free zone for e-business, IT and media.  Common to all these projects is Gergawi’s creative urge to innovate coupled with finesse in execution to world standards.

Gergawi is also on the Board of Emaar Properties, is the Vice Chairman of Masharie, Vice Chairman of Dubai Handicapped Club and Secretary General of UAE Federation of Disabled Athletes.

One of Gergawi’s key strength is his ability to motivate his peers and create a strong team of people who can learn from him and continue to execute with equal success.  “The success of a project (or contribution of the person running it) can only be judged if you find it runs smoothly without the initiator at the helm” says Gergawi.
