Jonathan Wales FCA (46)

Jonathan Wales was educated in England where he still resides. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales having qualified 22 years ago.

For the majority of his professional life Jonathan has been a Partner in professional accounting practices based in the UK. After spending his early career in auditing he developed specialised skills in corporate finance and advising not for profit organisations in their management and financial and administration controls. He is a strong supporter of the not for profit sector and in particular ensuring efficient usage of resources in meeting the mission statement of the relevant organisation.

He has travelled extensively across Europe, Asia and North America and has a good understanding of the cultural differences that both divide and join commercial entities and other organisations across the world. His work in corporate finance has provided substantial experience in the management of a variety of businesses.

In 1986 Jonathan commenced his specialisation in advising Internet service companies. In February 2000 he joined the board of Virtual Internet plc as Chief Financial Officer taking responsibility for a fund raising of $50m and a full listing on the London Stock Exchange in April 2000. Following the acquisition of Virtual Internet plc by Register.com Inc he has expanded his management role within the Group overseeing a number of Registry initiatives.
