This event took place on 21 October 2015 from 16:00-19:00 +01 at ICANN Public Meetings in the L4 Foyer room.
Each group of the multi-stakeholder community plays an important role in ensuring the Internet is a safe place to do business. This event will focus on domain name abuse, ways to define it, how it’s currently addressed, and what should be done going forward. A panel comprised of experts on SPAM, phishing, malware, and DNS will discuss the complexities of defining, mitigating, and preventing domain name abuse as it relates to cybercrime and other abusive conduct. Moreover, speakers from the Internet infrastructure industry will detail their technical and policy-oriented anti-abuse efforts in the gTLD and ccTLD realms. Individuals from all stakeholder groups seeking a better understanding of domain name abuse, ways to prevent it, and interested in learning the different roles and requirements of the Internet community are encouraged to attend.
This session will be presented by the Secure Domain Foundation.
