GNSO - RPM working group (4 of 4)

The GNSO’s Review of All Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) Policy Development Process (PDP) Working Group was chartered in March 2016 to conduct a two-phased PDP. In Phase One, which is ongoing, the Working Group is reviewing all the RPMs that were developed for the 2012 New gTLD Program. In the fourth of four open community sessions being held at ICANN63, this is a Working Group meeting to present the Working Group's initial review of the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) proposals for operational fixes and policy recommendations, and for the Working Group to discuss those proposals. The Working Group also will discuss the timeline, and next steps for developing the Initial Report. The URS is a dispute resolution procedure, based substantially on the longstanding Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy, that allows trademark owners to obtain a suspension of a domain name that was registered and used in bad faith by a third party without legitimate rights in the name.
