About me
Moataz Shaarawy is a seasoned social entrepreneur and community development leader with over 20 years of experience empowering youth through education and employment initiatives. Moataz holds a Law degree from Cairo University and a Master's in Executive Management from Harvard University, specializing in intellectual property law, international investment, and dispute resolution. After graduating, he co-founded multiple non-profit organizations focused on expanding access to information and communications technologies across Egypt. Moataz serves as Secretary General of the Shaarawy Foundation for Development NGO and Treasurer of Internet Masr NGO and the Internet Society of Egypt chapter. In these roles, he spearheads programs promoting digital literacy, knowledge-sharing, and skills training to enable social and economic progress. Moataz also represents the interests of African internet users as a member of ICANN's At-Large Community on global policy matters. He has extensive experience visiting countries across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe including Kenya, Senegal, Ghana, South Africa, Sudan, Morocco, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and London. In addition, Moataz is an experienced entrepreneur and investor. He oversees a diversified portfolio encompassing real estate, technology, trading, and education. Leveraging over two decades of expertise in law, non-profit leadership, business, and investment, Moataz is passionate about empowering communities through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions. He remains dedicated to cultivating Egypt's youth as drivers of social change.
