Session Details
The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council has initiated an Expedited Policy Development Process (EPDP) for Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). This EPDP is expected to 1) determine the approach for a consistent definition of all gTLDs; and 2) develop policy recommendations that will eventually allow for the introduction of variant gTLDs at the top-level. Appropriately, this working session will allow the EPDP Team to continue its Phase 2 deliberations pertaining to second-level variant management and prepare for the final policy recommendations, following its analysis of the public comments received on the preliminary recommendations. As IDN is an important element in the New gTLD Program Next Round and a topic of interest to the broader ICANN community, attendees are welcome to observe the session.
