Jay Paudyal is a seasoned serial entrepreneur and Internet Governance advocate with over 27 years of experience in the IT industry. Throughout his career, he has founded and led multiple startups and businesses across diverse sectors, united by a single thread—the Internet. His ventures span domain name investment, telephonic language training, software product development, e-commerce, legal aid services, online publishing (text and video), and Internet governance. Jay's journey has been shaped by both successes and failures, each contributing to his deep understanding of innovation, community building, and digital ecosystems.
Current Leadership Roles:- CEO, EnDetect – A leading employee monitoring and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) software company, where Jay serves as the technical architect behind smart DLP solutions designed for modern enterprises.
- Vice President, Internet Society (ISOC) India Delhi Chapter – Contributing to policy advocacy, capacity building, and community outreach for a free, open, and secure Internet.
- Organizing Committee Member, India School of Internet Governance (inSIG) – Supporting capacity building programs and policy development initiatives for the Indian Internet community.
Internet Governance Contributions:By choice and passion, Jay is deeply committed to shaping the future of the Internet through governance and policy work. He is an
ICANN Fellow Alumni and actively contributes to ICANN's policy development and capacity building programs. As a
Member of the Neo-Brahmi Generation Panel under ICANN's IDN (Internationalized Domain Names) Programs, Jay consults on the creation of Label Generation Rules (LGR) for Devanagari and other Indic scripts, supporting the onboarding process for multilingual domain names in India.
Jay is also a founding member of the
Cyberspace & Intellectual Property Foundation and the
All India Digital Skill Mission (AIDSM). He has organized and co-organized significant Internet governance and domain industry events, including the
Indian Domain Summit and
WordCamp Delhi 2024. His advocacy extends to memberships in
FICCI-ILIA and the
Global Encryption Coalition.
Education & Expertise:Jay holds an MBA in Marketing from Sikkim Manipal University and has studied Cyber Law at the Indian Law Institute. His expertise spans business strategy, technical architecture, software development (including WordPress since 2003), growth hacking, policy development, and e-commerce.
Personal Interests:Jay is passionate about traveling to new destinations, exploring diverse cuisines, photography, and filmmaking. He is based in Delhi and Pune, frequently traveling between both cities for business purposes.
