Status Report on Independent Review Panel Nominations 17 September 2001 Status Report The Independent Review Panel Nominating Committee (the "Committee") is currently reviewing the nominations for the Independent Review Panel. The Committee strives to seek out and accept the best-suited individuals for positions on the Independent Review Panel. Therefore, the Committee is simultaneously undertaking several steps to ensure that the Committee will attain this goal: 1. The Committee is requesting the nominees to complete a questionnaire that, among other things, asks each nominee to confirm their desire to be considered for a position on the Independent Review Panel. 2. The Committee is undertaking an independent investigation of the nominees for the Independent Review Panel. 3. In addition, the Committee is currently soliciting comments from the Internet community regarding the nominees to the Independent Review Panel. While the Independent Review Panel Nominating Committee and ICANN prefer to maintain an open procedure, making public comments of this nature could, in some cases, change the nature of the information the Committee is hoping to receive from this comment process. Therefore, please forward confidential comments to the Independent Review Panel Nominating Committee Coordinator at irp-nomcom-coordinator@icann.org by 1 October 2001.
