Status Report on CEO Search Process and Call for Suggested Candidates

A search committee has been formed to assist ICANN in its search for a CEO to replace Stuart Lynn, who has announced his plan to return to retirement in the first quarter of 2003.

The committee consists of:

Linda Wilson
Helmut Schink
Michael Roberts
Nii Quaynor
Masanobu Katoh
Vint Cerf (chair)
Ivan Moura Campos
Rob Blokzijl

The committee recently authorized the engagement of Christopher Mill and Partners to perform this search. Christopher did the search that led to ICANN's hiring of Stuart Lynn two years ago.

The committee plans to pursue an accelerated schedule allowing it to put a candidate before the board late in 2002 or early in 2003.
