New Registrars

Hi,
after opening the registrars account what is that next step. basically i had reviewed your website, but i have more questions if some one can help me, you can contact me at 832-228-2086.

Gisol problems

In Dec 2006, I signed up for a 36 month hosting package at www.gisol.com for around $200 with “free” domain name with “free whois privacy”.

leech behaviour

Why is ICANN not doing anything about "leech" behaviour when it comes to purchasing domain names. I find it really frustrating that aside from companies that actively engage in "front running", there are others who have just snapped up domains in bulk with a view to selling them on for hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

For large corporations this kind of money may not be a problem, however for already financially challenged charities, institutions, health organizations and so on it is impossible to have to submit to such unethical behaviour.

legal for registrars to speculate and reserve domain names?

I had an odd thing happen yesterday... I queryied the networksolutions.com WHOIS database to check on availability of a specific domain for a client; it was availabe.

Today the client asked me to go ahead and register the domain, but lo and behold, networksolutions.com has registered it, and there is no associated website. Is this coincidence? Did they use my query to automatically 'taste' the domain on the odds that i would be trying to register it and force me to BUY it from them?

How do I get my domain back

GISOL is both my host and registrar. In fact, when I register a domain thorugh them they become the end owner with the registrar alldomains.com and tucows.com and I lease the domain from them. Here's what happened. roman-catholic-prayers.com was registered Sep 28, 2005 along with disneyland-hong-kong.com. They have a poor expiration notification system and discovered that both domains were on the last day of the 30 day expiration. I send a request to renew and have been billed accordingly. Standard stuff. However, on Nov.

Registrar Hijacking of Expired Domain Names

By changing the Registered Name Holder's contact information, registrars are able to stifle any effort by the public to contact a registrant about their expiring domain name - preventing registrant from benefiting from the sale of rights to the domain name. And that's just the beginning! Learn more here:

Domain Transfer Problem

I have an unexpired domain (ifasc.org) and my webhost suddenly dropped my site and has since blocked my domain from transferring to another webhost. Because of this, my non profit organization has lost contact with all of our volunteers around the world and we are desperately issuing press releases asking our volunteers to contact us using a generic email service provider.

WHAT

What am i paying the Registrar for and why can i not do it myself.

I have had a look around and found that domain registration charges change depending on the Registrar used. Why is this? are some doing more/less than others (what are they doing) are some just taking MORE profit for the same task?

personally i would be content with skipping the "Middle Man" in this and filling out required information myself, however it does not seem possible?

What requirements do ICANN make when registering a domain?
