names in the “.law” country code top-level domain (the “Registry”). We recognize your right to confidentiality
and are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement describes
how we collect information, how we use the information we collect, and to whom
and under what conditions we may disclose this information.
When and Why We Collect Information,
and How We Use It
Persons who
register a domain name through us (each, a “Registrant”) are required to
submit their name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card and
related contact information.
We will use
the information we collect from a Registrant to manage the Registrant’s domain
name account file and to provide the Registrant with other services from time
to time. For example, we may use this information to alert Registrants to
changes in the dotLaw License Agreement or other policies applicable to the
Registrant’s domain name, to notify Registrants of services offered by dotlaw,
to provide news regarding the dotLaw community, and to communicate with
Registrants regarding their accounts.
Additionally, Registrants who are
physicians and other healthcare providers will have the opportunity to include
opt-in practice profile information on their individual web site(s) that will
be included on the dotLaw domain.
Who May Have Access to This
Information
We will
disclose the name, address, telephone and e-mail address of a Registrant and
Registrant’s other contact information through a published database of domain
name holders that will be accessible on the web through WHOIS search and other
means. We may also be required to
submit this information to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and
Numbers), or other regulatory bodies.
We will not provide any Registrant information in bulk form to third
party advertisers for the purpose of sending unsolicited email to Registrants.
How We Use Cookies
“Cookies” are
small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s
hard drive. Cookies can help a web site recognize a previous visitor and
remember any preferences that may have been set during earlier visits. Cookies can securely store a user’s profile,
personalize your use of our services and help us understand the types of
resources you’re interested in. dotLaw does use cookies on our sites to track
visitor practices and determine which site features and services are most

Registrants may elect not to receive e-mail communications from the
Registrar regarding other Registrar products or services. To do so, please send an email to that

Correcting or Updating
Your Data
Registrants
may review and edit their information.
To do so, a Registrant should send an email to support@register. that
reads, “Send me a data update form” in the subject line. We will reply to your
original message via email with an update form. Most change requests will be processed in 72 hours.
Security
dotlaw understands that security
is an important to our users. When you
transmit personal information to us, we encrypt it using SSL (Secure Socket
Layer), the industry standard for encryption software.
Encryption provides a secure means to protect your information as it
passes over the web to our
server.
dotlaw will use commercially
available and acceptable means to protect any information you provide, but
cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us
from our products and services, and you do so at your own risk. dotlaw Inc,
will not be liable for disclosures of your
personal information due to errors
in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties
