This GNSO Policy Development Process was launched in June 2014 to examine whether changes to the existing dispute resolution processes at the second level in all gTLDs (i.e. the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) procedure) were needed to address the specific needs of international governmental organizations (IGOs) and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). The PDP Working Group has thoroughly considered the public comment received to its Initial Report and preliminary recommendations. These recommendations deal with a number of issues, including that of standing to file a complaint under the UDRP and URS and IGO jurisdictional immunity, for which the Working Group had sought the advice of an external legal expert. In this session, the Working Group will discuss its proposed final recommendations with the community. All are welcome to attend, especially those with an interest in domain name disputes and IGO concerns regarding abuse of their names and acronyms in the domain name system.
