Part 2: The GNSO’s Review of All Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) Policy Development Process (PDP) Working Group was chartered in March 2016 to conduct a two-phased PDP. In Phase One, which is ongoing, the Working Group is reviewing all the RPMs that were developed for the 2012 New gTLD Program. In September 2017, the GNSO Council approved a request for extensive data collection on the Sunrise and Claims RPMs from the Working Group, involving surveys of registries, registrars, trademark and brand owners, actual and potential domain name registrants, and public interest groups and industry associations. In the second of four open community sessions being held at ICANN61, the Sub Team that is managing the request for the data collection will hold a Working Session on the development of questions to aid in the gathering of data relating to Additional Marketplace RPMs. Although open to the public and Working Group members, the focus of this session is strictly for the Data Sub Team to engage and progress its work. The Additional Marketplace RPMs are those voluntary additional RPMs offered by some New gTLD registry operators, i.e. the Donuts Protected Marks List (DPML), the DPML Plus, the Minds+Machines Protected Marks List (MPML), and the Domains Protected Marks List (DPML).
Agenda Details: RPM Data Sub Team working session (Please note: this session will be conducted as a regular meeting of the RPM Data Sub Team, although it will be open to others to attend and observe.)
