What It Is | DNSSEC is happening! Major top-level domains and the root are on the cusp of being signed and DNSSEC deployment is accelerating. This session is a public presentation from those actively engaged in the deployment of DNSSEC. The meeting begins with two in-depth panel discussions on operational issues related to the deployment of DNSSEC. The panel discussions focus on operational issues for registries and registrars as well as for ISP's and DNS resolvers. Topics will include technical issues, such as transfers of DNSSEC domains and key rollovers, as well as issues related to the business case of DNSSEC deployment and possible barriers to adoption, such as the uptake of validating resolvers. The panel discussions will be followed by an overview of open source DNSSEC tools as well as updates on regional and worldwide DNSSEC deployment activities. The meeting culminates with an extensive presentation and discussion of the implementation of DNSSEC at the root during a sponsored lunch.
Why It's Important | Registries, registrars, ISP's and others who plan to deploy DNSSEC services will benefit from the presentation and discussion of the deployment experience. Many TLDs, registrars and ISP's are planning to deploy DNSSEC in the next two years and we anticipate that they will encounter similar operational and adoptions issues. These issues will be discussed during the workshop in depth and all those involved in DNSSEC deployment will be able to share their experiences.
Who Should Attend? | Anyone with an interest in the deployment of DNSSEC, particularly registry, registrar and ISP representatives with technical, operational, and strategic planning roles.
Luncheon details | Tickets for the sponsored lunch will be distributed at the beginning of the workshop at no charge for those attending (limited availability, first come first served).
