Net neutrality
There has been a recent announcement that some of the royalty fees for internet based radio stations were going up. This could be the death for some stations because they rely on donations to even acquire legal music.
DMCA is being abused and innocent people suffer.Apple decided to make music that can be played on any player and not just one player.
Digital music is outpacing CDS. This is not surprising. Internet radio is big business. Radio companies could earn extra money by promoting concerts on net stations at a cheaper rate than traditional streams.
Long ago you could listen to your favorite landline station on their website. Now because of how things changed you can not do that. It is a shame.
Registrars make money off internet radio stations because they have to get the domain somewhere. Hosting companies make money for bandwith. Everytime a CD is sold two companies who originally developed make mone even it is from rivals in the music business.
Domains should be with rightful owner but a domain name is what we make of it. Some use the court system to bully into getting a domain back without compensating someone who maybe using their real name as part of the domain.
Everyone makes money in the domain business if you just learn to work together. Just like INternet radio should be saved. Some countries would ban context of certain websites because hiding from the truth may be sensible.
I remember when I could easily find 1932 Olympic memorbilia but because of changes you cant. It has to do with natzi area photographs. You can still find sites that spew how to make bombs or other bad devices or even recruiting tools for terrorists.
The trouble with registerfly is relevant to what happened to people caught up by sloppy mistakes in the file sharing cases. You have to stand up for yourself and not just lie around. I think would make things better if the whole thing was aired out on TV....if registerfly continues to stall time again.
