What are we doing about the rampant Porn industry?
The Internet is a place that we send our children to look up information for school. What are we doing about the rampant Porn industry with free peeks that leave nothing to the imagination? I cannot say that I have not looked, but I can say that it was not my original search intention,in ICANNs infancy. [http://www.whitehouse.com]. How many of our children haven’t told us what they found, with kids one peek leads to another and so on. From ICANNs’ about page just several lines. [http://www.icann.org/about/] ICANN coordinates these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN doesn’t control content on the Internet. It cannot stop spam and it doesn’t deal with access to the Internet. But through its coordination role of the Internet’s naming system, it does have an important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet. The content is not why I am writing this, it is however the evolution that the WWW has developed into and the lack of ICANNs impact in this area. Yet in nine years ICANN ’T has not done anything noticeable in this area as they speak about their “transparency”. Oh it’s ICANN ’T see? I was looking for information about curfews in our local area. Now imagine my shock!
And checking when I see (Johnston county sex offenders) I see what seems to be graphic nudity and child pornography. Why have we not made a (.porn) and made it so they can’t prey on all walks of life due to a misspelled search. If I could set my Internet Explorer/ Foxfire or whatever to filter out a; .porn/ .ndty/.crp/.xxx
Please fix this ICANN because I can’t.
