Open GNSO Council Meeting
What it is | In this session the Generic Names Supporting Organisation (GNSO) Council, the body responsible for managing the policy development process for generic top-level domains (gTLDs), provides an opportunity for community members to interact with the Council as it conducts its meeting. Action items on the agenda include Domain Tasting and GNSO comments in response to IDN ccTLD questions. Informational topics include the Inter-registrar transfer policy and Whois studies.
Why it's important | This forum enables stakeholders to provide input on the Council's discussions and deliberations on: 1) Domain Tasting; 2) GNSO comments in response to IDN ccTLD questions; 3) Inter-registrar Transfer Policy; 4) Whois studies; 5) GNSO activities in regard to GNSO improvements; and 6) any other issues that may be added to the agenda. Note that the new format for this meeting is designed to integrate public comments with Council discussion and action and allow for an open microphone at the end.
Who should attend? | Anyone with an interest in specific gTLD issues and/or domain name system policy in general, including registrars, gTLD registries, businesses, Internet service providers, Internet users, and government representatives. Note that this meeting also includes a topic of interest related to ccTLDs.
