Session Details
This session will provide an update on the status of the System for Standardized Access/Disclosure (SSAD) Operational Design Phase (ODP), and include a discussion with the community on specific aspects of the SSAD including the role of Contractual Compliance, identity verification methodology, and more. To help prepare for this session, please read the latest blog on the project here:https://www.icann.org/en/blogs/details/ssad-odp-update-timeline-extension-and-next-steps-28-9-2021-en
The SSAD is a new system proposed to centrally handle requests for nonpublic registration data, envisioned in Recommendations 1-18 of the final report of the GNSO Expedited Policy Development Process (EPDP) on the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data Phase 2. Due to the resource investment and complexity that would likely be required to implement the SSAD-related policy recommendations in a timely and predictable manner, the ICANN Board has requested an Operational Design Assessment (ODA) to inform its deliberations, including whether the recommendations are in the best interests of the ICANN community or ICANN.
The ODP, performed by ICANN org, will assess the potential risks, anticipated costs, resource requirements, timelines, dependencies, interaction with the Global Public Interest Framework that is currently being piloted, and other matters related to implementation of the SSAD-related recommendations (1-18).
