Session Details
This is an onboarding session for ICANN85 newcomers and non-engineers, including Fellowship and NextGen@ICANN Program participants. This session will introduce newcomers to the Domain Name System (DNS). It will cover the fundamentals of why the DNS was invented, why it’s been in use for over four decades, how naming works, how names resolve, and some of the new work being done on the protocol. This session will help prepare ICANN85 attendees for all the policy discussions being conducted at the meeting.
