ICANN & Global Internet Governance: The Road to São Paulo & Beyond
The NCUC conference seeks to promote cross-community dialogue on global Internet governance processes and institutional arrangements. In particular, the meeting will focus intensively on the issues to be addressed at the Net Mundial: Global Multistakeholder Meeting on the Future of Internet Governance to be held in São Paulo, Brazil on 23-24 April 2014.
The conference will be held just one month prior to the highly anticipated meeting in Brazil, where governments and nongovernmental stakeholders will debate significant proposals regarding the institutional evolution of Internet governance. The conference offers members of the ICANN community an extremely timely opportunity to consider and share their positions on these proposals.
The conference will feature multistakeholder panels on: 1) Setting the Scene: Overview of Recent Agenda-Setting Initiatives; 2) Internet Governance Principles; 3) Roadmap for Ecosystem Evolution: Globalization; and 4) Roadmap for Ecosystem Evolution: Institutional Innovation.
Session leader is Dr. William J. Drake, Chair of the NonCommercial Users Constituency (NCUC).
