NOTE: The deadline for the nomination and membership-activation periods has
now passed, as of Friday, 8 September, midnight GMT. New At Large webpages
for the voter education and dialogue phase will be posted Saturday, 9
September. Information about the nominees, along with an online Question &
Answer Forum to facilitate dialogue, will be available then.
If you were not able to activate your membership before the deadline, we are
interested in determining why: problems with passwords, PIN letters,
postal
systems, language, etc. The At Large membership process is in many ways an
untested experiment, and a post-election study will address any shortcomings
and ways to improve any future membership programs. If you had problems
with activation, please send an email describing your experience to
problem-reports@icann.org.
There are two avenues by which an individual can appear
on the ballot for this year's At Large elections.
- First, the Nominating Committee announced
a set of 18 nominees
on August 1.
- Second, an individual can win a place on the ballot by
attracting the support of 2% of the activated members in his/her region (or 20 members, whichever is greater), from
at least 2 different countries.
The rules for the member-nomination phase are set forth
at the bottom of this page. The membership-nomination period will take place
during the month of August, according to the following schedule:
- August 14 - Deadline for an individual to submit his/her
name to ICANN as a candidate for member-nomination
- August 15 - Beginning of member-endorsement period
- September 8 - Deadline for activated members to endorse
candidates for member-nomination.
Activated members should review the candidate information for the candidates
in your region. For an index of candidates, click on your region below.
To make an endorsement, click here.
You will be asked to log in with your member number, password (sent via email), and your PIN
number (sent via postal mail). All PIN letters were mailed by 7 August.
Once you have logged in, you will see a list of
candidates in your region, and you will be able to make an endorsement.
