As a user of the Internet and administrator of several networks for nearly 20 years I have experience in all technical and administrative areas of networking and the Internet.
From my technical experience with the Internet I am running several seminar-tracks for customers and have published a book on IPv6.

As Co-founder of ISOC.DE (formerly DIGI e.V.), the German chapter of ISOC, vice-president of the German chapter since 1997, I was representing ISOC at the German DENIC for several years. Since 1996 one of my parts for ISOC in Germany was to follow the IAHC and later the ICANN process. At the same time the major part of the international contacts of ISOC in Germany to other chapters and the EU were also part of my duty.
Parallel to these administrative contacts my main working area is the technology of the Internet. Working at the IETF in the fields of IPv6, VPN and several other working groups, the working of ICANN came more and more into focus. Coming from a technical background, working with a lot of international contacts, trying to make technical information and standards available to all network users, especially in Germany, I hope to bring an open mind for all aspects of ICANN’s responsibilities and problems to the board of directors.
My role at ICANN will be a representative of all Internet users with a profound knowledge of the possibilities and dangers of this technology.
