QUALIFICATIONS |
Statement addressing the candidates qualifications
and experience specifically relevant to
(a) ICANN's technical and
administrative responsibilities, and
(b) your leadership and policy-level
roles.
|
I feel that I have many useful and
relevant attributes to this important
position. I am extremely technical,
helped design and build the NSI shared
registry system and have many years of
experience doing related professional work.
My technical background allows me to grasp
the issues quickly, and I have attended every
meeting (using my own funds) because I
am deeply interested in the outcome of
the DNS governance issues and have no real
preexisting biases as to the future of the
Domain Naming System.
Although I am a U.S. citizen, I am truly
multi-cultural, and equally comfortable with
European or Mid-East cultural environments.
In addition, I have a proven track record of
providing a time commitment to international,
technical and women's groups and issues.
Given that I have been involved with the
domain registration industry as it has
evolved over the past three years, I think
it is unlikely that any other candidate will
provide such a great intersection of
both technical ability and depth of
commitment and understanding.
As ICANN evolves through the current
election process into a representative,
bottoms-up organization, people who have
actual field experience, as well as an
appreciation of the broader underlying
issues, will prove invaluable to the
consensus process that ICANN is pledged to
facilitate. I believe that I am that person.

I have been diligently attending most
of the ICANN meetings regardless of
location. This enables me to constantly
stay abreast of the progress of ICANN's
efforts and goals. It also allows me
to idenfity the evolution of the policies
of the domain registration field and to
recognize and understand all the pertinent
players and their roles within and outside
of ICANN.
Several of my company's past and present
clients are directly involved and affected
by ICANN's decisions and other related
organizations.
