| Mr. Boyer's career started with developing low level device drivers on systems such as the HP21MX, PDP 11's, VAX 11/780, SGI Challenge, etc. Much of his early experience was on systems for the Department of Defense. As a result Mr. Boyer has vast experience with many early as well as current telecommunications protocols and specifications. Mr. Boyer was an early innovator in the Interactive Television Industry, participating in the first Video on Demand Trials (Timer Warner; Full Service Network) Mr. Boyer developed the systems to provide television scheduling information for the Full Service Network. Utilizing the then State of the Art Silicon Graphics Interactive TV Platform, Mr. Boyer developed a Satellite Based transportation and reception system (Patent #6085253), tcp/ip transport from the reception to an SGI Challenge cluster, and a replicated driver providing data transport via a CORBA/IDL compliant interface.
Mr. Boyer invented an Internet based television listing system for Prevue Networks (Now TV Guide). This system was one of the first Internet based television listings systems based on a grid structure. During the merger of Prevue Networks and TV Guide, Mr. Boyer lead the development and infrastructure teams that put in place a new web farm handling (Feb 1999) more than 1 Million page views a month. This system provides TV listings for over 10,000 independent cable systems through out the US.
Mr. Boyer is an inventor with over 8 pending patents in the Internet field.
