| I am attorney since January 1996. I passed the First state-examination after going to the lawschool of the University of Hannover, the Second state-examination I also passed ind Hannover, the capitol of Lower Saxony. I worked three months in Los Angeles for Fredricks & Associates, Attorneys at Law, specialized in media and entertainement law and seven months for Abrahams & Gross Inc., Attorneys, Notaries & Conveyancers in Cape Town, South Africa. During my studies I worked as a freelance journalist, ski- and snowboardinstructor and raft-guide. Befor I started my own lawfirm, I quit my job in a big lawfirm in Celle and took an eighteen months lasting break. I worked a whole season as a ski-instructor in Switzerland and spent the the next winter in the southafrican summer. I have experience in the legal aspects of e-commerce and domain name disputes etc., because of claims, negotiations and mediations i was involved with.
An attorney in Germany defines himself as an independent part of the legal system, so that his clients could be big companies or just people like you and me. In fact, an attorney in Germany represents the legal system itself as he guarantees that the state can never violate the rights of its citizens. By using the internet as an information-pool and following the public discussion about the www, I realized the growing importance of the net and what it could mean, if the internet would be controlled or dominated by the information industry. The internet is the first step to a worldwide communication without censorship and we should fight to keep it that way. If the ICANN is dominated by Directors working for or together with state authorities and it-companies, the internet user will always be second.
