During the brief but intense period of time that I have used the Internet, I have seen how the Internet has evolved into more than just a bunch of wires and geeky techies (much like me) to play with it.
The Internet has become a place where businesses rise and fall, where people find romance and heartache, and where everyone else is going.
The issue of if I am technically adept for this position is admittantly a little hard to judge. I ahve graduated from The British Columbia Institute of Technology with a diploma in Computer Systems, Data Communications. This doesn't say much about what actual skills I actually have. Throughout my study, I have learned extensively about the issues of protocol design and implementation, where efficiency, complexity, and compatability often pull in different directions.
As for my leadership roles, I have had no official positions in any organizations, but I am a strong debater who is willing to "go to bat" for something I beleive to be a valid cause. I am not one to roll over when someone says. But, I am not brash in that my own pride blinds me from the issues presented. I can admit that I make mistakes and relent, even at the cost of hurting my pride.

I am currently under the employment of MDSI, which does not have a direct link to ICANN, but in performing duties related to the wireless marketplace, the issues of IPv6 allocations, VoiceOverIP, and such other standards that are becoming more interesting, and I hope to become more vocal on my opinions in the near future.
I will be the first to admit that I have not been very loud about the issues involved with ICANN, but I have tried to remedy that somewhat through the discussions hosted by ICANN. |
