| I have been closely involved with the group of hackers that forced the deregulation and helped launch the Internet and its precursors in France since the end of the 80s. My contribution to ICANN will be to make the Internet an open space for every citizen of the world, independent from special interests. Because my background is in computer engineering, my proposals will be realistic, down to earth, solutions that actually work. As an example, I do believe that ".com" domain names will disappear in the near future and will be replaced by sophisticated directories.

| I have lived through 20 years of electronic communication. I have witnessed first hand the effect that global, worldwide communication on the general public and wish to limit the barriers that are artificially imposed on it. In my younger days, I was a computer and telecom hacker (in the positive sense of the word). I have grown up since then and learned about business, financials and politics (I created my own Internet startup), but I still retain this "hacker" energy and enthusiasm.
