QUALIFICATIONS |
Statement addressing the candidates qualifications
and experience specifically relevant to
(a) ICANN's technical and
administrative responsibilities, and
(b) your leadership and policy-level
roles.
|
I have been involved in the development of technical IT policy for over a decade, and am a leader or active participant in groups that review, modify and/or implement policy changes within organisations that I consult for.
I try to reach a fundamental understanding of all sides of an issue before I speak. Although I almost never reach such an understanding, once I've reached what is to me a logical conclusion, I am known to argue passionately for that point of view. However, I'm always conscious of my own fallibility, try to maintain an open mind and can be persuaded by reasoned argument.

ICANN RELATED INTERESTS |
ICANN-related interests, including:
(a) Employment and consulting relationships
(b) Ownership or investment interests in any ICANN-related businesses
(c) Official positions in any ICANN-related businesses or organizations
|
I own, and employed, by Sodan Software Australia Pty Ltd. I consult with both government and private organisations, generally as a short- to medium-term project manager for IT-related infrastructure projects. My company also acts as a reseller of web hosting services, and provides intranet development services. I currently have no ownership, investments, or official position with any ICANN-related organisation.
|
BACKGROUND |
Background information, personal statement, URL, or other information
you would like posted in connection with your name on the ICANN
website.
|
I have maintained an interest in the Internet for several years, particularly in relation to web site development. Owning several domain names myself, I have a proper understanding of the requirements for domain name purchasing and the problems that surround this issue.
If I am fortunate enough to be elected to the ICANN Board of Directors, I promise to do my best to represent the interests of my region's At Large Membership, and the organisations, private and public, commercial and non-profit, that use the Internet to advertise, communicate and impart knowledge to the rest of the world. The Asia/Pacific region is so diversified that only by being guided by the At Large Members will I be able to effectively accomplish anything.
Thank you.
