I've been in Internet business since it became public to Universities in the US. I'm actually working in the field developing new technologies for the net and managing domain name registrations. I've got a real good knowledge of Unix-based systems and network technologies as well as rules about domain names regulation. I've been working specifically in the domain name registration field, enabling people to register domain names from us (as an Italian registrar) and manage them easily.

ICANN RELATED INTERESTS
ICANN-related interests, including:
   (a) Employment and consulting relationships
   (b) Ownership or investment interests in any ICANN-related businesses
   (c) Official positions in any ICANN-related businesses or organizations
I've never worked directly or indirectly for ICANN. I'm actually working in the domain name registration field (an Italian registrar) and I'm the owner of both European and COM/NET/ORG domains.

BACKGROUND
Background information, personal statement, URL, or other information you would like posted in connection with your name on the ICANN website.
I'm actually working in the Internet field as a professional. In the past I've been an active member of the net community because of my interest in programming and application development. This passion led me to a job related to Internet as an application developer. In my projects you can see E-Commerce and Business2Business applications, active server pages enabled sites and much more. I've got a good grasp of the network itself, how it works (technically speaking) and how people behave on it. In the latest years I managed to push myself into domain name rules (in part for work and in part for pure interest) and I'm facing people registering domains every single day and so I know what the difficulties are and how to solve problems and get in touch with people and explain how things works (it could be hard to apply the current rules for registering a domain, especially in Italy).

Here's a short list of what I've done (Internet-related).

Developed Projects:

· Accounts management utilities for Linux machines.
· CGI scripts embedded in HTML pages (counters, animations, etc..)
· HTML pages use on my own web site (http://www.mediacom.it/~tanis).
· Hateseed.com - an online game-related electronic magazine developed in ASP (http://www.hateseed.com).
