I am a practicing US attorney specializing in intellectual property. I have a PhD in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana, where I was first introduced to the internet via MOSAIC.
I have been an active Macintosh and IBM PC user since the early 1980's and have been surfing the web since very early on.
I have been a member of the local school board for two years, and have experience in the effective operation of a board with a public service goal.

I personally have registered two domain names for the purpose of my own personal use.
I do not have any direct controlling investments in any ICANN-related businesses, or any positions in such business or organization.

I am eager to help establish fair and equitable policies for domain name assignment that protects the small individual registrant, and not just multinational corporate powerhouses.
Fair dealing and equity requires some expertise in the complexities of international Trademark law, which has a long history that can be used to guide the formulation of internet domain name assignments, etc.
I hope that I can bring a balanced view to the board, being both technology oriented, and grounded in traditional trademark law; and by championing the small individual against any over-reaching by large corporate entities.
The problem of over-reaching does not just impact "squatters" but also other small businesses who have used "similar" if not identical names in business that were, at one time unrelated, but thrown together by the common world-wide reach of the Internet.
Give me your support, and I promise to be a voice of reason and consideration.
Thank you.
