ICANN will be running a consultation session in English, French, Spanish and Russian (using simultaneous translation) on the draft Strategic Plan and the revised Frameworks and Principles for Accountability and Transparency.
The Strategic Plan is a critical document for ICANN as it sets out priorities for the next three years. A first draft of the plan has been prepared for consultation with the community. The plan will be revised based on the feedback that is received from the community. It is hoped that a final version of the plan will be approved by the Board at their December meeting. As part of its commitment to continuously improving transparency and accountability, ICANN commenced a second process of consultation with the community on the development of a set of Frameworks and Principles for Accountability and Transparency. The document covers overall accountability, financial accountability, dispute resolution, information disclosure, consultation principles, translation principles and expected standards of behaviour. Community input is actively being sought on these documents to ensure they reflect the standards that the community expects. The Frameworks and Principles will be revised based on the feedback that is received and it is hoped that a final version will be submitted to the Board for approval at their December meeting.
