Welcome!  ICANN56 will be our first meeting under the Meeting B (Policy Forum) structure. This four-day meeting will be focused on sessions which are core to current policy development work and outreach, with the Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees taking the lead in organizing the program.

Carlos Reyes is Policy and Community Engagement Manager with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. ICANN preserves and enhances the interoperability, reliability, security, and stability of the Internet worldwide. In his role, Reyes provides policy development support to the global multistakeholder community. Reyes joined ICANN in December 2012 and is based in the Washington, D.C. office.

Previously, Reyes worked as an associate at Impacto Group LLC, a strategic communications and consulting firm focusing on the emerging power of the Hispanic community in the United States. Reyes was also a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal’s “Hire Education” blog from 2010 to 2011. Before moving to Washington, D.C., Reyes spent two years as a member of the Youth and Education Commission in his hometown of Phoenix, AZ.

Reyes is an active community leader. Reyes is the Chair of the Boards of Directors of Young Americans for Diplomatic Leadership and the National Campus Leadership Council. From 2008 to 2013, Reyes served as a member of the Board of Directors of Sister Cities International, a not-for-profit organization representing a grassroots network of 500 cities and 2,000 global partnerships.

Reyes graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in May 2011. A first-generation American, Reyes is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. He enjoys traveling, exploring museums, and supporting the fine arts and equality causes in his spare time.
