Session DetailsThe At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) and the At-Large Community continue to believe that more can be done to combat DNS abuse on a number of fronts.
This session focuses on proactive tasks to prevent harm from malicious registrations.
At ICANN83, the ALAC held a plenary session engaging the ICANN community in a collaborative conversation to support stronger cross-community understanding of continuing widespread abuse cases for better scoping and identification of possible solutions for the same.
At ICANN85, the ALAC will host another collaborative conversation involving the ICANN community, to:
Examine the progress of the ongoing GNSO policy development processes on DNS abuse mitigation; Discuss how the community might establish better coordination to tackle Domain Generation Algorithms (DGAs)-based abuse; andTo identify which other priority gap(s) should be subject to policy development next.
