Explaining the Reconsideration and Ombudsman Processes
This session will provide the community with an explanation of the current Reconsideration process including the standards of review, associated deadlines, and examples of Reconsideration Requests that did satisfy the grounds for reconsideration and those that did not. The Ombudsman will also describe his mandate and explain the process that he follows upon the receipt of a complaint. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with members of the Board Governance Committee and the Ombudsman about the Reconsideration and Ombudsman processes, although not about any specific request or complaint. It is important to note that this session is not intended to supplant any of the ongoing multistakeholder work related to accountability, which is being addressed in several other sessions during ICANN52.
