AT LARGE Q&A TOPICS

Topic: NSI strangehold on Domains.
Date: 2000-10-01 16:26:24
Author: Dan Milam <dmilam@airmail.net>

Question: In your opinion what, if anything, can ICANN do to help alleviate the way NSI refuses to release domain names after they have expired? I personally have been waiting since June for an expired domain.

ICANN needs to expose this issue with a more formalized public hearing on the matter. If NSI refuses to give legitimate reason for its actions, then ICANN needs to consider what tools it has (contractual promises, technical controls, or relationships with government) to bring NSI in line.
