Topic: Being on the Names Council and standing here also

Question: Mr Katoh sits on the NC for the biz constituency and can be elected to the Board by the NC. Is it right that he can have a second shot at the seat by standing as an AT Large representative?

There seems to be some confusion here. I think you are talking about three board seats to be filled by the DNSO. Anyone can run for these DNSO-selected board seats. Therefore, everybody can have a second shot if this is the question. In fact, there was an election last month to fill one DNSO-selected board seat, and I did not run for that board seat. Since I was selected by the ICANN nominating committee to run for an At Large seat, I accepted to do so.

I think this should be better answered by Mr. Katoh. I think there is no clear rule regarding this issue in this election. I believe it has to be discussed in the preparation for the next election. And, I suggest the at-large members could take this into consideration in their votes for this election.
