Question:
DN piracy circa '95 is out. Today's name inventions reflect techno trends.
IMNSHO blended words can = identity a la dot-com. Warhol's Y2k sig might be silkstreammarilyn.com. Artists value work - some sell/treasure domain names (A.W. might've too). Q.> Where are nominees on selling/hoarding?

Selling is fine (as long as it is not someone else's specific trademark). The value of hoarding is mostly the result of artificial scarcity in domain names. ICANN should allow many more TLDs and the let the market reduce the value of hoarding.

The name space is effectively unlimited, if
it were properly managed, so I don't
believe there is a hoarding problem. In
principle, I don't oppose the selling of, or
markets in, domain names, any more
than I oppose advertising firms. But I do
support trademark law -- ENFORCED BY
THE COURTS AND NOT BY
ICANN-AS-GOVERNMENT -- and that
would limit the ability to trade in some
names.
