Question: how the Internet become and in which way are you going to push it ? Should it be *more* a world's citizens space, preserving the community form of the early days or a commerce space where corporation meet their clients ?

The internet will be both! On the one side the internet will continue to be a anarchical global network allowing millions of people to communicate and express themselves. On the other side the possibilities for a commercial use will rise further. Both of these interests will decide about the future utilization of the internet. ICANN has to ensure that both works fine and that there is no certain obstacle that might have influence on the developments, as long as it is up to things within the scope of ICANN.

The Internet should be definitely more a worldīs citizens space, which consists of cultural entities, commercial spaces and unlimitied communication. For commercial space/entities has own ideas of handling things like claiming intellectual property, it might as well need own rules as other spaces do. So, I donīt see a problem of coexisting as long as these realities are connected together and respect each other.

In my opinion this is not ICANN's business. My motto is: ICANN keeps The Internet interconnected for Everyone. ICANN must keep the address space and the parameters unique, and by doing so, the Internet can be used for all types of communication. How it is used in the society will be regulated by the politicians and the law makers, not by ICANN. In my opinion the Internet should be used both for commercial purposes and to improve the society in general. What I can do in the ICANN Board with this, is just to make sure that the addresses and names creates any limits in such communication.
