Why it's Important | The in-person meetings held in conjunction with the ICANN meetings provide an opportunity for productive and constructive discussions on issues that involve ICANN consensus policies that relate to interoperability, technical reliability and/or stable operation of the Internet or domain name system. Who should attend? | Anyone with a vested interest in these issues is encouraged to attend the open session of the gTLD Registries Constituency meeting while in Paris. |

9:00 - 17:30 Chagall What it is | The Country-Code Names Supporting Organisation (ccNSO) which helps develop global policy for country code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs), convenes both a members meeting and a Council meeting in Paris. Why it's Important | The Council and Members will discuss a number of issues affecting a cross-section of the world's country codes. Additionally there will be updates on developments and best practice from various ccTLD managers. Who should attend? | Anyone with an interest in ccTLD issues specifically, and the Domain Name System in general, including registrars, registries, businesses, Internet Service Providers, Internet users, and government representatives. |
9:00 - 10:00 Rodin What it is | The working meeting for leaders of the Regional At-Large Organisations (RALOs) at ICANN Paris.
Why it's important | This meeting provides the regional leaders with the opportunity to coordinate and work on cross-regional coordination and special projects. Who should attend? | At-Large Secretariats |
10:30 - 12:30 Rodin What it is | This is the standing meeting between members of the ICANN Board of Directors and members of the At-Large (Internet end-user) community in ICANN, which is a feature of each ICANN meeting.
Why it's important | This meeting provides an important opportunity for members of the ICANN Board to speak at length with the At-Large community and learn more about their points of view. Who should attend? | Designated ICANN Board members, At-Large community members. |
14:00 - 17:00 Utrillo (Main Room) What it is | The Business Constituency is a constituency representing customers of providers of connectivity, domain names, IP addresses, protocols and other services related to electronic commerce in its broad sense.
Why it's important | The meeting will consider the reaction of commercial users to proposals to change (and potentially reduce) the way they have their say in ICANN matters. It will also look inter alia at means of policy change to prevent bad faith activity related to domain tasting and the widespread abuse of the "add grace period". Who should attend? | Commercial users of the Internet who are interested in meaningful competition in the domain name space and improved enforcement by ICANN of its contract parties (registries and registrars) with respect to acts of bad faith facilitated by lack of enforcement. |
14:00 - 17:00 Miller What it is | "ISPs"; or "connectivity providers"; are in the business of operating Name Servers as a service for 3rd parties and operate an Internet backbone network based on TCP/IP.
Why it's important | The meeting is an important opportunity for updates and discussions on issues within the ICANN agenda that are of particular importance to registrants who are intellectual property owners and those seeking to protect copyright and trademark online. Who should attend? | Anyone with an interest in these issues is invited to attend. |
14:45 - 17:00 Giacometti What it is | The IPC represents the full range of trademark, copyright and other intellectual property interests relating to the Domain Name System (DNS).
Why it's Important } The meeting is an important opportunity for updates and discussions on issues within the ICANN agenda that are of particular importance to registrants who are intellectual property owners and those seeking to protect copyright and trademark online. Who Should Attend? | Anyone with an interest in these issues is invited to attend. |
15:30 - 17:00 Rodin What it is | This is the meeting of the At-Large Community and Advisory Committee.
Why it's important | This is the main public meeting of the ALAC during the Paris ICANN meeting, which will consider various policy issues as well as important structural issues such as: • How to increase At-Large community engagement in policy debates, and; • how to facilitate more effective bottom-up development of policy positions on behalf of the Internet end-user interest. Who should attend? | Advisory Committee and At-Large community members. |
17:00 - 18:00 Jacob What Is It |This is a meeting between members of the At-Large (Internet end-user) community in ICANN and the Non-Commercial Users Constituency (NCUC) in the GNSO. Why it's important | This meeting provides an important opportunity for members of non-commercial and end-user interests participating in the work of ICANN to work together. This meeting will particularly focus on the proposed changes to the GNSO and the proposal for inclusion of the At-Large community in a formal sense proposed to the Board of Directors. 17:30 - 18:30 Picasso What it is | Members of the ICANN Board of Directors and the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) will participate in an open dialogue on current issues.
Why it's Important | The Board and the GAC meet at each ICANN meeting to address issues of interest, including matters relating to public policy and the GAC's work. This is an example of the important role of governments in the ICANN process, the engagement with respective stakeholders in the ICANN structure as the implementation of, and work relating to, international public-private partnership. Who Should Attend? | Government representatives, any stakeholders with an interest in ICANN and public policy issues. |
