Overview:

The workshop, Civil Society in ICANN, will provide an opportunity for open and vigorous dialogue between public interest advocates who are active both within and outside the ICANN community. From outside the ICANN community we hope to have participants from advocacy and research organizations based in the US and beyond who are involved in human rights, privacy protection, freedom of expression, access to knowledge, development, and related issues.

Agenda Details:
  • A short overview of ICANN and how it works;
  • An introduction to what civil society does and how it participates in ICANN;
  • Discussion of key areas of interest to civil society, such as data protection or freedom of expression, and how they are being handled in the ICANN context.

The discussion will run from 16:30-17:45 approx., and will be followed by a networking reception from 17:45-19:00. If you would like to join us, please confirm your attendance via email to: jean-jacques.sahel@icann.org
