Universal Acceptance is the idea that all domains work in all applications. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by software developers and web site owners because their systems have not kept pace with the growth of the domain name options – including IDNs. A Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) was formed in the first quarter of 2015 to help coordinate and accelerate acceptance of all domain names in all applications. The UASG Workshop is a full-day session that allows participants to work collaboratively to identify the situation and work to develop solutions to be deployed through the end of next year.
