Topic: Candidate to candidate questions
Date: 2000-10-05 04:03:36
Author: Johannes Teernstra <terastra@terabytz.co.nz>

Question: I feel that voters will get a better idea of candidates' positions when candidates will ask each other questions. Would the candidates comment on this please?

I think most of us candidates (especially in the AP region) may not defer very widely in our opinions. But I may be wrong...

I agree it would be better for voting process if the candidates could ask each other questions. Probably, the candidates are spending a lot of time in communications with numerous At Large Members and pay relatively less attention to communication among themself. Nevertheless, in my view, through the personal web site provided by them as well as from their replies to the questions submitted by numerous At Large Members you still can make objective evaluation of the candidates.

In my view, it is more helpful for members to question the candidates as part of the process of selecting the regional representative on the ICANN Board. The At Large Q&A Forum provides one way to compare the positions of candidates. More of a public debate among the candidates is an interesting idea which we should consider for the future.

I am glad to accept this suggestion. But, I am not sure with a question, i.e. may a candiate answer the questions carried out by himself ?
