I dont know. But I do feel that the on-line registration process could have been done better. But ICANN did not expect so many voters to register, and they were caught off guard.
We all learn from our mistakes.

I am very sympathetic to you. The election system is a bit complex.
If you had to activate your membership before the September 8 deadline to
participate in the October elections. There will be future ICANN elections and othe ways you can be involved in ICANN activities. Please stay involved.
The At Large membership process is in many ways an untested experiment, and a post-election study will address any shortcomings and ways to improve any future membership programs.
This is why I am proposing to review the
election system and try to change it if there is an area to improve.

It depends. According to ICANN’s rules of At Large Election, you cannot join the voting process this year. But you can participate in this process when ICANN continues to hold At Large Election to elect new At Large Directors in 2002.

Dear Mei Hua,
I am so sorry to hear that you did not activate your membership in time. I personally feel deeply pity because I believe you could be an active member.
In this case, you can not vote this time and even you could not get into this forum unless someone help you with a legal PIN. I would like to encourage you to activate in time when there is another ICANN-election. No matter you can vote or not, you can tell me your opinions about ICANN and you requirements on Internet. if elected, I am glad to fulfill that. Please contact me via chi@mis.nccu.edu.tw
