Day Two of the ODR forum was a great day of learning and of exchanging ideas concerning ODR. The day culminated with a keynote speech given by Dr. Vinton Cerf. Dr. Cerf is the inventor of the Internet, and his views and ideas about the future of the internet and disputes – dispute resolution was compelling. As the organizing committee, we have been pleased and proud to introduce a session on ODR Initiatives in British Columbia. This panel included information from the BC Roster of Mediators, the Ministry of Attorney General, and SmartSettle, a BC ODR firm.
Dr. Cerf’s presentation will be posted under the Program tab.
Royal Roads University President Allan Cahoon announced that the University would be the recipient of the residual funds from the ODR Forum. These funds will be used to provide bursaries to Royal Roads learner in the Bachelor of Justice Studies program. The bursary will be called the Horta Cerf Bursary in honour of our two Keynote speakers, Dr. Jose Ramos Horta, President of East Timor, and Dr. Vinton Cerf, father of the Internet.
