The Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC) is one of the six constituencies of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) charged with the responsibility of advising the ICANN Board on policy issues relating to the management of the domain name system.
The ISPs and connectivity providers Constituency are an integral part of the generic Name Supporting Organization (gNSO). The Constituency's goal is to fulfill roles and responsibilities that are created by relevant ICANN and gNSO bylaws, rules or policies as ICANN proceeds to conclude its organization activities.
These responsibilities include the election of three members to the Names Council and to ensure that views of Internet Service Providers and Connectivity Providers are appropriately communicated and understood. It will be particularly attentive to the needs and concerns of such providers and balance these with the public interest. The ISPs and connectivity providers Constituency is committed to wide membership participation as well as open, transparent procedures and practices.
What it is | In this session the Generic Names Supporting Organisation (GNSO) Council, the body responsible for managing the policy development process for generic top-level domains (gTLDs), provides an opportunity for community members to interact with the Council as it conducts its meeting.

What it is | To contribute to community discussion regarding Whois policy, ICANN has undertaken a research study of domain name Whois contact information accuracy. The purpose of this workshop is to provide the ICANN community with an update on the progress of ICANN's Whois Data Accuracy Study.
Why it's Important | The accuracy of Whois data is of great importance to ICANN stakeholders. The Whois Data Accuracy Study will provide useful information to ICANN constituencies and the global Internet community on the percentage of accurate Whois data that exists within Whois. Workshop attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions concerning the verification methodology, the domain name sampling plan and other details relevant to the Whois Data Accuracy Study.
Who should attend? |Anyone interested in Whois should attend this workshop. This includes, but is not limited to, registrar operators, registry operators, trademark attorneys, law enforcement representatives and internet security representatives.
The GNSO Council meets to discuss the input from the meetings during the week and plan ahead.
