What it is: This workshop will focus on the policy issues related to the introduction of internationalized top level domains. A number of working groups (including the GNSO and the ccNSO jointly with the GAC) have been working since the Sao Paulo meeting to frame IDN policy issues. Papers covering IDN policy issues are anticipated to be generated by these working groups and made available for review by this workshop. Some of these policy issues are overlapping across the two working groups and also to the Policy Development Process that is ongoing within the GNSO for the introduction of new gTLDs. These overlapping issues will be the core of the discussion in this workshop. Why it's important: The policy issues are an important cornerstone of the IDN Program and detailed discussion of these issues plays a key role in the successful deployment of internationalized top level domains.

Who should attend: All parties interested in the progress of activities that are planned to lead to the deployment of internationalized top level domains.
