What it is: ICANN Nominating Committee Workshop

Why it's important: The Nominating Committee is charged with filling the majority of seats on the Board of Directors, as well as nominating members to serve in leadership positions in other constituencies. Learn how the nomination process works and how you may become involved.

Who should attend: Anyone interested to learn about this unique process or is considering applying for one of the ICANN leadership positions on the Board or any of the constituent bodies.

What it is: The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council, the GNSO's representative decision-making body which helps develop policy for generic top-level domains (gTLDs), convenes in Lisbon.

Why it's important: The Council will consider policy for the introduction of new domain names (gTLDs), changes to rules governing personal data in WHOIS databases, the GNSO improvement process, the contractual conditions policy development process as well as other important issues.

What it is: The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) helps to promote the development of Internet policy for generic top-level domains (gTLDs) (such as .com, .org, etc.) and encourages diverse and international participation in the technical management of the Internet. This public forum gives all interested individuals an opportunity to share their views on any issue pending before the GNSO. The GNSO will report on its policy work in progress, and open the microphone for your comments.

Registrars Constituency meeting

What it is: This public forum, which is organized by the Board Governance Committee and is open to all interested individuals, provides the broad community with an opportunity for an in-depth discussion about improving the GNSO's structures and processes.

Why it's important: This forum enables stakeholders to provide input on fundamental changes to the GNSO that were recommended by the GNSO independent reviewer (the London School of Economics), as well as to offer their own advice on how this critical policy development body can be improved.

What it is: This public forum, which is organized by the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) and is open to all interested individuals, provides the broad community with an opportunity for an in-depth discussion about the GNSO's Draft Final Report on the Introduction of New Top Level Domains (new TLDs).
